Game Rules
The network is a game of leverage, reciprocity, and permission. Play it with standards — not hope.
- Your network is a weapon before it is a status symbol.
- Most opportunities die in the drafts because you invented a hierarchy that doesn’t exist.
- The fastest way to become interesting is to become useful.
- People only reply when two conditions are met: clear interest for them + a precise, non-generic compliment. Engineer both.
- A well-placed question often creates more access than a compliment.
- Never ask for time. Offer a specific reason why the conversation benefits them.
- Most people are starving for someone who sees them accurately, or as they wish to be seen. Be the rare person who can do both. Selectively.
- People remember how you made them feel far more than what you said.
- Calculated actions create transactions. Uncalculated generosity creates depth.
